hi  sfzhi,

We changed the forum settings to fight spam, so basically you can commit a port not too frequently, I hope it does lower the spam incidents

Deleted, we need to move to spam filtered forum framework, this one is not doing the job. I will push this one.

Rooster, you wouldn't know if the firmware can do multiple SSIDs (virtual access points), would you?

I know some of these new wifi chips do support MSSID(like the 8366), try to configure it an see if it works...

8  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / U-Boot stuff / Re: Installing EPIA made my Windows USB keyboard and mouse stop working on: August 13, 2010, 11:35:15 AM
Uninstall libusb, in some cases (w7/Vista) there have been issues with installation of this driver, my advise for all windows users is to use Linux even on VM works, windows is not the best OS for this.
9  General Category / General Discussion / Re: New QT based installer: Easy Plug Computer Installer (EPIA) on: August 11, 2010, 08:02:59 AM
That is strange, I managed to use it with 8G Kingston and 4G Sandisk Cruzer Blade 4G.
What host OS are you using? and how did you format the USB DOK?

is this availability of mtd? within linux totally a result of the u-boot argument "mtdparts" within the bootargs environmental variable, for example, mtdparts=orion_nand:0x400000@0x100000(uImage),0x1fb00000@0x500000(rootfs)?  So that this example would give mtd0 as 'uImage' and mtd1 as 'rootfs'?
correct, the uboot mtdparts does the mtd mapping, you could also set it in the kernel config if you do not want to do it in uboot.

Many kernel sizes are less than 0x400000--is there any reason not to start the file system at 0x400000 instea of 0x500000?
You can place your kernel anywhere you want, this is not true for uboot image which the bootROM loads (the address is hard coded in bootROM)

12  General Category / General Discussion / Re: New QT based installer: Easy Plug Computer Installer (EPIA) on: August 05, 2010, 02:41:40 AM
That is the right way to do it.
This could be set in uboot env to be done on every esia install.
13  Linux Stuff / Android for SheevaPlug is Available! / Re: Install Android On SheevaPlug on: August 01, 2010, 12:46:47 PM
yes it is, PR rename of the same project, will be renamed again soon to the original name (epia->esia).

the only way to fix it would be to replace the initrd used by the ESIA with code that performs nand write with APIs that skip bad blocks, not with cp/dd.
15  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / U-Boot stuff / Re: Bad block in nand uImage after ESIA/EPIA installation on: July 29, 2010, 12:51:00 AM
oops, I verified on older versions and it is the same, regular cp of uImage  Shocked instead of using nandwrite, initrd needs to be updated
