Hello everyone

what is the easiest way to make my plug send me an email when a process is dead? It would be enough if this would be checked every 5 minutes or so, but of course I don’t want an email every 5 minutes if the process stays dead for some hours.

My idea is to monitor a sheevaplug running darkice to stream mp3 audio to a icecast server.

Hello everyone

I am planning a Sheevaplug to capture audio over a USB soundcard and stream it in the internet with darkice. I have not yet ordered the plug, and there are several configs I can order from NewIT. Original Ubuntu, Newer Ubuntu 9.04 with UBIFS, Multiboot with newer Ubuntu 9.04 with UBIFS and second OS on SD-card (Debian Squeeze 6.0 or Lenny 5.0).

My last linux experiences are some years back so I don’t know which distro is the best choice, especially concerning the USB audio. Any hints?
