Just try updating the current Ubuntu installation first (http://plugcomputer.org/plugwiki/index.php/New_Plugger_How_To).

Did you try upgrading the SheevaPlug? Isn't 2.6.22.18 the standard kernel?

Many thanks tbm for all the work! Installed Debian on my plug without any hassle thanks to the tarball and the clear instructions.

Hello ebp, it's most definitely a router issue I think. First of all, try giving your plug a static IP and configure your router to forward ports to that specific static IP. Works best for me.

Hello ljones, where do you plan to plug in the SheevaPlug? If it's next to your wireless router why not just plug in a patch cable instead of putting energy in trying to hook the plug up to your wireless network?

Mine got in the 5th of August. Immediately hooked up an USB drive, installed the Debian tarball and the whole thing was up and running within an hour. I'm very happy with it, the plug runs rtorrent, museekd, nfs, ssh and apache without complaining. Compared to my NSLU2 it's just so much faster while power consumption remains low.
