would it be possible to indicate a version

There is now a tag file in the directory that indicates the version.

With regards to the eth issue.  I'm not sure why it's coming up as eth2.  And I'm not sure what you mean by both are wrong.  Those eth addresses look pretty normal.

do a "find /lib/modules -name autofs4.ko".  If it doesn't locate autofs4.ko, then it would appear you may have installed the kernel without reinstalling the modules.  If that is the case, just rerun README... make sure you delete the old sheeva-* files before running README...

442  Linux Stuff / Kernel / Re: Re-Flashing the Sheeva for NTFS support on: May 25, 2009, 06:45:14 AM
If you are referring to the kernel at http://plugcomputer.org/plugforum/index.php?topic=337.0.  Then you need to follow the directions in README-2.6.30-rc7.  You will need a serial connection to the plug to set the uboot variables after flashing the new kernel.  When you get 2.6.30-rc7 booting add "fuse" to /etc/modules to load the fuse module.  Follow the directions with ntfs-3g to mount the partition.  I've built ntfs-3g from source on the sheeva so I know there is no "source" incompatibility.  I don't know of any other "incompatibility" between ntfs-3g and arm.

RC7 has the modules for hfsplus (as does the updated  version of RC6).  It should be as easy as adding hfsplus to /etc/modules.

445  Linux Stuff / Kernel / Re: 2.6.30-rc6 new release on: May 21, 2009, 06:01:23 PM
autofs, autofs4, hfs and hfsplus modules have been added.

I'm not sure autofs will help with respect to automounting usb drives.  Personally I'm not too keen on automounting USB drives on a headless computer.  I'd be more inclined to write a couple of scripts.  Although I find "prompted" automounting to be acceptable on workstations running KDE4.

I just upgraded from an 8Gig Transcend to a 16Gig Transcend.  The 16Gig seems to work fine.  Here's a link in case you're looking for a workable 16Gig.

Root-NFS: No NFS server available, giving up.

That bit would make me wonder if you have your nfs server running and the serverip is set correctly.
