436  Linux Stuff / Kernel / Re: 2.6.30-rc6 new release on: May 21, 2009, 06:01:23 PM
autofs, autofs4, hfs and hfsplus modules have been added.

I'm not sure autofs will help with respect to automounting usb drives.  Personally I'm not too keen on automounting USB drives on a headless computer.  I'd be more inclined to write a couple of scripts.  Although I find "prompted" automounting to be acceptable on workstations running KDE4.

reiserfs.ko has been added.

I just upgraded from an 8Gig Transcend to a 16Gig Transcend.  The 16Gig seems to work fine.  Here's a link in case you're looking for a workable 16Gig.

Root-NFS: No NFS server available, giving up.

That bit would make me wonder if you have your nfs server running and the serverip is set correctly.

Where did you take the snapshot  of RC5?
  It's built from kernel.org source.

rc5 has just been updated with USB audio support as a module.

You might want to try previous release candidates, since it's not terribly difficult to switch versions.  I've not had any USB related issues but I'm not currently using a hub.

446  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / Hardware / Re: Does this chip support 'pld' instruction? on: May 04, 2009, 06:20:28 PM
In theory if you use "-march=armv5te" you should have pld support.  Give that a try.
447  General Category / General Discussion / Re: common lisp on: May 04, 2009, 04:29:45 PM
I hate to say it but lisp looks to be one of the ugliest languages I've ever seen.  It ranks right up there with Perl.  My personal preference is Python.

I'm about to write this off as a $100 loss

I'll give you $50 for your plug.  I'm thinking I need a second plug for testing.
449  Linux Stuff / Kernel / Re: 2.6.30-rc4 new release on: May 03, 2009, 10:32:28 PM
The rc4 image has been updated with patches from Marvell which include power management and SD patches.

Those of you who are using Kingston SD (or want to) should update.  With a bit of luck the new SD patch will resolve your issues.

I just checked my SD card and it's a Transcend 8Gig class 6.  It works great.
