] stumbled over the same phrase a few days, ago.However: while looking it up I came to the surprising finding - yes it's really used that way.
Saw also another reply in previous post that it occurred in the bible, might be the true origin in the end ( http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/155500.html ) ... bleh ^_^
