yes this is problem with some sheevaplug, configuration eeprom fir FT2232D is not programmed
you can use "modprobe ftdi_sio vendor=0x0403 product=0x6010" to get this working on Linux host

best way is to program the vendor id/product id, you can get thr tool from ftdi to update eeprom

Hi
Thanks for evaluating latest u-boot,
actually I am in process to update this page

Yes, all the patched related to sheevaplug are mainlined, but there are some generic arm related issues.
I have put all fixes togather at http://git.denx.de/?p=u-boot/u-boot-marvell.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/testing

Please clone testing branch form git.denx.de//u-boot-marvell.git and build it for sheevaplug,
everything will be functional.

there are few more fixes that I will update tomorrow so that you will get updated code.

thanks are regards..

6  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / U-Boot stuff / Re: Update u-boot and boot hangs at "done, booting the kernel" on: June 29, 2009, 04:31:18 AM
Hi
sorry for late reply
I have gone through log you send
there is only one possibility that I think-
one of uboot is passing wrong machin-id to the kernel.

from the kernel code identify what is the machine for sheevplug used (include/asm-arm/mach_types.h)
then program the same in u-boot by
setenv archNumber <machine-id>
saveenv

and try

15  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / U-Boot stuff / Re: New U-boot features on: June 21, 2009, 07:52:06 AM
Hi all,

I think, bootloader should be limited to it's objective , i.e. boot the kernel and rfs from supported media SF, NANDF (additional  MMC, or USB), any specific h/w usage should be ported on OS level, otherwise boot loader may be equally fat AS kernel :-)

Mostly this is the approach with the u-boot development.

At this moment it U-boot Kirkwood support enables SF,NANDF and network interface, USB will be anther useful interface in the pipeline,
Apart from this I don't think other things are really needed in u-boot.
