What is the output of fdisk -l   ?

It would make more sense to use a captcha and not a time out.
The plug wiki definitely needs a captcha.
Can one of the plug wiki admin clean up all the spam pages?  I have spent a lot of time on the plug wiki marking the drugstore spam as spam delete but there is so much of it that the admins really need to run a script to take care of it.

I tried logging into the wiki just now to clean up some pages that have been spammed and get "Login error You have made too many recent attempts on this account's password. Please wait before trying again."

It seems the spam bots have taken over.
If the Wiki admin still has control of it the spam bots need to be black listed on the wiki.

I for one have followed the instructions that come with the Sheevaplug and they have worked correctly for me.
It is impossible to brick the SheevaPlug via flashing it.  It is always possible to reflash it if you make a mistake.
Hence:
A:)  You are either a troll.
or
B). You need to take basic reading comprehension and literacy classes before attempting to read instructions more complicated than how to tie shoe laces.

But then it would not be a plug computer.  Better that hey fix the thermal problems

DembK50 and thomasb what make you such great authorities on the Sheevaplug? 
Dembk50 you admit you have never had one.  You will improve your credibility if you speak about what you have actual experience rather than using hear say.

I have been running a Sheevaplug for over a year with a USB hard drive hanging off of it with no heating problems and no power supply problems.  The Sheevaplug is barely above lukewarm temperature. 

Oh by the way there was a recent check in to u-boot for a fix to the way u-boot does reset of PHY chip.  It was not resetting it correctly. I have not applied that yet to see what difference, if any, it makes to the Guruplug temperature wise.

Does the version of uboot used for the GuruPlug Server Plus support booting the kernel and RFS from an eSata drive? That would be extremely useful for the application I have in mind.

The MAC address should be on a label on the bottom side of the plug.  Use that value to set the environment variable in u-boot

If you use the correct commands in uBoot you should be able to boot the kernel and RFS from a USB device, no initrd needed.

They are on the CD that shipped with the SheevaPlug.  I do not know if they ship the same CD with the later versions of the SheevaPlug.
