106  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / Hardware / Re: GuruPlug Server Plus Heat Problems on: June 02, 2010, 09:38:14 AM
will this new design apply to everybody or just the people from 220v land?
107  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Strange Boot Happenings on: June 01, 2010, 10:59:40 PM
I assume the plug has no battery and therefore can't maintain the time in its memory

But you are right it doesn't make sense to hardcoded like that

for mine I commented that line and installed a ntp client on it
108  Linux Stuff / Linux distributions / Re: Howto: Installing Debian sid/unstable on the GuruPlug on: May 31, 2010, 08:07:34 AM
fabio70mi: can you tell me (us) how you install the squeezebox on your Guruplug?

I think I am going to buy a microSD and attempt it....hopefully I won't brick it Cheesy
109  Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / Bluetooth connection with Guruplug on: May 29, 2010, 11:42:58 AM
I was wondering if anyone has been able to connect anything to the plus via bluetooth

I have seen the wiki which mention the audio headphone but what about a mobile?

I have tried and it seems to work but for some reason it refuse my pin after a a while.

I believe I have followed correctly some other page I have seen on the web about bluetooth but
obviously I must be missing something

110  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / Hardware / Re: SqueezePlugRescue-System on: May 27, 2010, 01:06:54 PM
I would really be interrested to get it to work on my Guruplug.

I unfortunately don't know enough to be able to do it.

may be other would know if some adaptation can be done?
111  Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / Re: guruplug plus and aptitude update on: May 27, 2010, 01:04:33 PM
OK so I can safely delete it then.

And will any wifi update still occur if needed?
112  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / Hardware / Re: GuruplugServerPlus LED configuration on: May 27, 2010, 12:40:07 PM
I have not played with all of them. I remember changing the colour of one of them but can't even remember which one

I thought it was cool but then I realised my brain is not good enough to remember what led would do what depending on it state Smiley
113  Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / guruplug plus and aptitude update on: May 27, 2010, 12:37:26 PM
Being a aptitude addict I obviously do it on my guruplug as well

I have noticed that the sources.list contains a line that try to connect to http://10.82.108.51 for wifi update butit always times out

Code:
Get:7 http://www.backports.org lenny-backports/non-free Packages [5286B]
Err http://10.82.108.51 binary/ Release.gpg
Could not connect to 10.82.108.51:80 (10.82.108.51). - connect (110 Connection timed out)
Err http://10.82.108.51 binary/ Translation-en_US
Could not connect to 10.82.108.51:80 (10.82.108.51). - connect (110 Connection timed out)
Ign http://10.82.108.51 binary/ Release
Ign http://10.82.108.51 binary/ Packages/DiffIndex
Ign http://10.82.108.51 binary/ Packages
Err http://10.82.108.51 binary/ Packages
Could not connect to 10.82.108.51:80 (10.82.108.51). - connect (110 Connection timed out)

and the part in the sources.list....
Code:
deb http://10.82.108.51/kedars/sheevaplug_wifi/builds/packages/ binary/

so my question: do you know what address it should be?
114  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / Hardware / Re: GuruPlug Server Plus Heat Problems on: May 27, 2010, 12:33:13 PM
Globalscale says they have done a design revision on the GuruPlug and the next shipment in the 2nd week of June includes these modifications. RMA's for everyone.

I wouldn't mind doing that adaptation myself if we are given some instructions. That will give me an excuse to open up the plug Smiley
115  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / Hardware / Re: SqueezePlugRescue-System on: May 27, 2010, 11:15:11 AM
this looks very cool

I have several question if you don't mind...

Would it work for a Guruplug? if not how difficult would it be to adapt for it?

Which version of ubuntu is on the plug? why not debian?

and for the Ubuntu 10.04 USB Stick I assume that if my PC is already a Ubuntu 10.04 I don't need to make one?

Your wiki is going to fill a few evening with interesting reading  so thanks Smiley

have you checked the wiki?

http://plugcomputer.org/plugwiki/index.php/LED_on_the_Plug

this is for the sheevaplug but I tried some command on my guruplug and it changed their behaviour
117  General Category / General Discussion / Re: New Device Issues on: May 20, 2010, 05:09:31 PM
Bluto: I understand that it can be frustrating (even though I don't seem to have any problem wiht my guruplug..yet)

My reaction was may be  also quick. I just don't like that culture of suing everyone for anything. There are some issues with the Guruplug (obviously!) but I doubt that Globalscale did it on purpose Smiley
118  General Category / General Discussion / Re: New Device Issues on: May 20, 2010, 11:36:12 AM
Blüto : class action law-suit???

are you not overdoing it a bit? Why do people always want to sue each other?

Give them a chance. This product is new and this can be expected. I mean if you want a perfect product
with no problem then you don't buy it as soon as it is out. You wait for the early tester to iron out issue

119  General Category / General Discussion / Re: New Device Issues on: May 18, 2010, 06:28:54 PM
I am completely new to this so I discover as I go but for your question 1a

I have read that some people are having the same issue as you when then plug themselves in a gigabit switch

I am at 100Mb and have no reboot

and the wiki is a good start to get some information

120  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Configuration of GuruPlug Plus on: May 18, 2010, 05:25:17 PM
I saved them in the script that is /root

it is where the initial wifi is configured...so basically it is run at every reboot
