2  Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / Re: Fresh install of Wheezy on: May 07, 2013, 05:53:01 PM
I have a 16gig usb key and I installed the 8Gb image in the end as the 16G image wasn't fitting on the key.

A little help from gparted and I resized the partition to use the remaining space

Now I just need to find some time to boot from it and reinstall my freeswitch server on it.

OK I might try that.

but silly question.

The image are dated from 2011 or 2012

Will they update to the latest Wheezy once plugged in the plug?

Is there the equivalent for Guruplug?

I searched the tree but couldn't find one
5  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / Hardware / Re: another corrupted microSD? on: January 24, 2013, 08:46:36 AM
This is not going to help but I had a similar experienced with MicroSD on my guruplug long time ago.

It was working fine and suddenly it stopped working and I could never recover the card. Since I swtiched to a USB key and it is working happily since
(more than 2 years)

I was going to give it another chance but based on your experience I might reconsider. I thought it was the heat that caused the SD to "burn" but
since you say yours is modified to cope with it....

Have you tried to switch the port to use 100M rather than 1Gig

It could simply be that it is still too hot and the 1Gig issue is not fixed

Actually I made it work. I compile a little program to blink the led.

So now only the thing to think about is: what can I do with that ? Smiley

I received mine yesterday...not even a week Smiley

I install the compiler but it doesn't work for the moment. I need to look a bit more into it though.

12  General Category / General Discussion / Re: GuruPlug - Ready to give up! on: May 14, 2012, 07:09:25 AM
well before you give up....do you have the heat problem?

I have one running constantly and yes it is warm but it doesn't cause me any problem.

I would say play with it and see.

Where in the US are you?
13  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / U-Boot stuff / Re: U-Boot with load2ext for Guru server PLUS: Who has a working version? on: March 17, 2012, 11:50:16 AM
It is not going to help you but I installed the uboot from flipflip and it worked.

Can't remember what I did as it was some time ago but I don't it is any different than loading the stock uboot.
14  Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / Re: [SheevaPlug] Which distro to upgrade to? Running Freeswitch? on: February 06, 2012, 08:19:55 AM
Hi,

I am running Freeswitch on a Guruplug using the latest debian.

As you say Ubuntu no longer support that version of the ARM processor but Debian still does

As for compiling I did it on the plug directly (I am booting from an 8Gig USB so space is not an issue)

It does take some time but since I am not smart enough to work out all these cross compiling thingy it has to do for me Smiley

For compiling I simply followed the Freeswithc wiki to install it for a Debian.

Freeswitch runs really well on my guruplug and I am sure it will run as well on your sheevaplug.
