Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / Re: Guruplug trying to send an email (cron job)

Hi, I just looked into each script into the cron.daily directory and didnīt find any clue. This is a extract of the log when my guruplug gets an error: connect to postbox.fabulous.com[128.242.120.13]:25: Connection timed out 94DD2915C3: to=< guruplug@bonaigua.com>, relay=none, delay=435572, delays=435551/0.15/21/0, dsn=4.4.1, status=deferred (connect to postbox.fabulous.com[128.242.120.13]:25: Connection timed out) In some way, seems that the script is trying to connect to the server fabulous and is not able (maybe because I add a rule in ufw).... Any clue? PacoLM

Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / Guruplug trying to send an email (cron job)

Hi,
My guruplug is trying to sent a email daily to a email address that I didn't know, using a cron job. The problem is that I do not know how to list or remove this job executed as root -> 'CMD (test -x /usr/sbin/anacron || ( cd / && run-parts --report /etc/cron.daily ))'. I have tried contrab -l, and no cron jobs are listed for the root user. Could you help me?
Regards,
PacoLM

Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / Guruplug as Access point+Ethernet
|
on: November 20, 2010, 03:08:15 AM

Hi,
I have my guruplug running Zoneminder with 2 IP-Cams. The Guruplug is indoors connected thru ethernet to the router, both cameras are outdoors (distance to the router wifi ~3 meters & ~ 6 meters) working in Wifi mode. Sometimes, depending on the weather (yes!), the phase of the moon and the number of doors closed or open, the cameras loose the connection. I would like if this configuration is easy to do: - put the Guruplug outdoors, next to the camera that is closer to the router, this camera should be connected to a ethernet port of the guruplug. - the another camera should connect to the Guruplug working as access point, being outside, should have more signal. - link/bridge the Guruplug access point to another connection (?), so I could access to the Guruplug from outside, as I'm actually doing.
Sounds feasible?. I'm a Linux newby, so I would like to receive some help to do it.
Thanks in advance,
PacoLM

Hello, Yes, I will write the how-to-zm-in-guruplug steps once I have time. My next step is to install a bootable Ubuntu 9.04/Fedora 12 sd card and reinstall it there. If you are interested start the setup and I could help you if you got stuck. Regards, PacoLM PD: ZM+IPCamFoscamFI8904+IPCamMaygionIP603 up &running in Debian 5

General Category / General Discussion / FIXED! Guruplug and apache2
|

Hi,
I have received my Guruplug Server plus and started to play with it. My purpose is to convert it in a system to run my home surveillance setup. I have installed Zoneminder and Apache2. I had some problems starting apache2, because the port 80 was already being used by lighttpd. I removed this application from the startup, and changed the apache2 settings to display the zoneminder webserver, the apache2 server now starts without errors, but still doesn't work. If I connect to the guruplug using firefox putting the ip address of the guruplug, I still get the guruplug internal web server with the examples of use of the it. Do you know what else do I have to change in order to get the web server redirected to the zoneminder server?.
Thanks in advance,
Paco LM
