Hi,

at the moment, i dont like to buy another guruplug with the same failor, in addition i don't know if i shoud buy a guruplug again.

But i will try to replace the GL850 when my delivery from China will arrive. I found a supplier at aliexpress that delivers 5 pices for 8$ inc. shipping to germany. If you like i could send you one of it by mail (the non-e one ;-)?

Hi,

What's the failure of your guruplug?. Is not seeing anything connected to the usbs?. Have you checked that the u4 (GL850) does not shows the V33?. If so, if you fix the problem by changing the chip, I will be very happy to get one!

Hope you have luck!. Keep in touch,

PacoLM

Hi,

I finally gave up, because it was impossible for me to get this chip (the minimum qty for ordering was 100!). I was using the guruplug with the esata port, because usb was not working. If you are interested in getting the guruplug, I could sell it. Where are you from?

The another Guruplug has the two USB plug non-functional, but eSata and ethernet working fine. The complete kit for 150 Euros (plus shipping cost). The guruplugs are in Spain.
Contact with me thru PM, please.

Uboot, look for something like:

Code:
ethaddr=00:50:43:f0:2a:2a

Put the correct value using:

Code:
setenv ethaddr XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
saveenv
reset
Hope it helps!

Do you know the Zoneminder package (www.zoneminder.com). Maybe it will work for you.

Hi,

Read this, maybe you could decrease the heating. http://www.newit.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,3322.0.html

I'm using my guruplug server plus with no fan, I simply removed it. I also removed the power supply and replaced it with an external power supply, to do that, I placed a connector in the guruplug case. There are a lot of post of users that 'tuned' the plugs to avoid heating. Mine is working 24x7 as a surveillance system and does not get hot anymore.

Hope it helps!

11  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / U-Boot stuff / Re: U-Boot with load2ext for Guru server PLUS: Who has a working version? on: March 17, 2012, 03:01:34 PM
Hi,

I'm pretty sure that this uboot works for guruplug server plus, are the commands you're using the following?. A change in the addresses could make you plug get bricked

Code:
#change uboot
tftp 0x6400000 u-boot.3.4.27.bin
nand erase 0x0 0x100000
nand write.e 0x6400000 0x0 0x100000
reset

Could you post the commands you are using?

Regards,

Here is the uboot version I have in both guruplugs, that supports ext2load
13  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / U-Boot stuff / Re: Recover after u-boot erase on: January 25, 2012, 12:24:31 PM
Hi,

Here's the method I use for my guruplug, change the addresses if needed, but I believe they are the same (?):
Code:
#change uboot
tftp 0x6400000 u-boot.3.4.27.bin
nand erase 0x0 0x100000
nand write.e 0x6400000 0x0 0x100000

And here you have the needed file -> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14178571/u-boot.3.4.27.bin. Copy it to your tftp server directory (in ubuntu /var/lib/tftpboot)

 Hope it helps,

15  General Category / General Discussion / Re: What happened to the Wiki?? on: December 12, 2011, 11:18:00 AM
Yes, spammers are also in the wiki, I believe I fixed it restoring the previous-not-spammed version. I had to do the same with the Zoneminder howto I have published time ago.
