No sooner do you put up 3.0.2 and 3.0.3 appears at kernel.org

FWIW, I have a relatively old Seagate (ST3250310AS) SATA drive that I use with a Dreamplug. Performance is great.
Fast enough that I have never been prompted to measure the speed. I am not sure about the differences with SATA on a Guruplug.

Can you tell us what compile options you use for these kernels?

Simply making the point that Dec2009 is more stable than Jun2011

I do plan to try other USB devices though.  Not only flash drives but also rotary hard drives.

I think I will wait another two years for the next version of u-boot for the SheevaPlug.

There used to be a .config for the Dreamplug as well. Do you still have it?

Somewhere in the Plug Wiki, http://plugcomputer.org/plugwiki/index.php?title=Main_Page, I read that the plug can be fussy about USB drives.  FAIK it's fussy about SD also.

Not my drives problem. The pingtoo u-boot works, the new one does not.

U-Boot 2011.06 (Jul 03 2011 - 02:54:01)

I mentioned in another thread that I could not get this u-boot to boot from USB (usb stick(s) or  harddrives).
It works when booting from NAND or MMC.
I perservered for a week and gave up and went back to using the pingtoo u-boot.

I recently tried the latest DENX U-Boot, compiled for Debian on SheevaPlug, http://people.debian.org/~tbm/u-boot/2011.03-6/sheevaplug/u-boot.kwb.  It comes up as:

Code:
U-Boot 2011.03 (Apr 26 2011 - 21:50:07)

Gone are the Marvell text "splash" and the Marvell stamp in the version string.  It has support for booting from ubifs and scripting.

I could not get USB to work at all.
Everything seems OK.

Has anyone tried http://people.debian.org/~tbm/u-boot/dreamplug/ ?

I was wrong dnsmasq does not act as a DHCP relay.
However, you can work the AP on the same subnet by using dnsmasq to allocate a subrange of addtesses that your router does not allocate. This dnsmasq only solution works for me.

I tried, but cannot get isc-dhcp-relay to work for me (yet).

Has anyone else tried isc-dhcp-relay?

My understanding is that dnsmasq can proxy to your existing DHCP and DNS servers.
It should just work.
If I get time I will try it tomorrow.

There is  a copy of the Sheevaplug u-Boot 3.4.27 that has pingtoo's first patch

at http://www.spinifex.com.au/plugs/pingtoo/uboot.zip

Version header is

U-Boot 1.1.4 (Dec 27 2009 - 22:03:21) Marvell version: 3.4.27 (- pingtoo patch.01)

This is the u-Boot that was at
