1  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / Hardware / Re: Plug PC 3.0 on: September 06, 2010, 04:27:16 AM
It's true, I'm researching about but I didn't found any news about plug computer 3.0 from January.
I'm hesitating to buy the current one or to wait this next version, 9 month is quiet a while in informatique world. The released should be soon.

I speak about the one presented the 5th of january :

Some news would be cool.
2  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / Hardware / plug comuter : server, yes! router, sometimes. modem, none? on: September 05, 2010, 03:27:27 AM
Hi,

These last days I'm researching about plug computer because I'm really excited by this idea.

The idea to finally have an acceptable (ecologically) home server is really cool. And mix it with the router is better (I think I have seen some doing it).
But why none of it integrate the modem?
I don't have any technical knowledge so maybe it's obvious but not for me.

It will be better, awesome, if we could replace our three appliances (modem+router+sever) which consume a lot and doesn't interact well by just one plug computer which consume so much less and integrate everything and offer a unique interface, easy to understand by everybody.
Is that feasible?

If there is information that the plug need for the first installation, we connect either by wireless or cable (ethernet) to initialize the plug computer on your network. I imagine a program which will run on web browser asking these information (about internet access).
