31  Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / Re: [Cross-] compiling applications for SheevaPlug on: May 03, 2009, 07:30:06 AM
I am having a little trouble getting started with plug computing. I have not been able to compile "hello world" on the Sheeva. There does not seem to be a gcc on it, and there does not seem to be an APT to download one. I realize that I must be missing something basic here...do you have to make a new kernel and download it first using tftpboot?

I would appreciate your kind advice.

Wes
32  Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / Development Kit Appendix A on: April 30, 2009, 08:07:22 AM
In the SheevaPlug Development Kit README, Rev. 1.1, Appendix A, step 5, it says to look for the mkimage binary. When I look there I find mkimage.c, but no binary. Am I supposed to compile this on my linux system? If so, please help me with the compiler (gcc) pathing.

Thanks,
Wes Stupar
33  Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / Sheeva Plug USB/Serial Terminal on Linus on: April 26, 2009, 03:45:10 PM
I have set up ttermpro on Windows, no problem using the Support Package. But I would like to be able to talk to the plug on Linux for kernel development. How can I set up a terminal on Linux for the plug USB serial port?
