Have you looked at the File Permissions of both drives.

The File Permission override the share Permissions, you could share what you can`t see .

I would say 19 watts the of max of the power supply unit .

Remember it`s a dream plug !!!!
eg a plug with 2 usb sockets which can supply the standard 500ma without going up in smoke etc.
one which will power a 2.5 hard drive without getting a powered hub .

1 amp at 5 volts equals 5 watts !!!

Read the sheevaplugs psu info :- http://www.globalscaletechnologies.com/t-sheevaplugdetails.aspx#component

    * Power input: 100-240VAC/50-60Hz Max. 20W
      DC Consumption: 5V/3.0A Max.
    * High efficiency POL DC-DC converters

20  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / Hardware / Re: USB transfer speed never exceeds 4.5 MB/s on: January 29, 2011, 05:56:04 PM
I do know if your drive is formatted NTFS , it is very very slow .

I get about 35 MB/sec with usb and 55 MB/sec with Esata ( ex3 ), but about 3.5 MB/sec with anything NTFS.

are you on gigibit or 100mb .

Because 11MB/sec is slow for gigabit and max in out 100
Mbit

Okay, Peter, I tried reasoning with you, now you're just being obtuse.

You are asking for world peace, Yes , They should be world peace, But talking about it doesn`t make it true.
Yes they should, but that does not make it so.
You are fighting over a point which everyone agrees. THEY SHOULD BE

I fact is no one here know ? , It is all guess work in the end.

You are right they should include a way for serial access etc , but have they ?
o.k read again :- Low cost dedicated JTAG tools for system development

The word there is LOW COST and not free or included .
25  General Category / General Discussion / Re: DreamPlug on: January 26, 2011, 03:00:04 PM
Sorry , but you missed the point , you need a boot strap loader in some form of rom / nand / eeprom etc.

You need hardware which the hardware understand at the base level .
It`s chicken and the egg !!! you need uboot or software to make it use the sd-card.

Verrry interesting. Why do we need the NOR at all when we have a spacious MicroSD to hold the device's firmware?

Sorry , but why do we need bios on computer when we have harddrives .

The NOR Flash is the boot strip , need for the first step to do anything .
27  General Category / General Discussion / Re: DreamPlug on: January 26, 2011, 02:13:20 AM
so , if you are right , the JTAG tools most be software ?
28  General Category / General Discussion / Re: DreamPlug on: January 25, 2011, 04:55:55 PM
true it is hard to be sure , But I THINK it`s going to be like the guruplug
it may even be the same JTAG board for the guruplug

NewIT talk about power the plug via a powered usb hub , but not heard of powering the plug via the ethernet cable when you haven`t got a power over ethernet router connected .

Is it coming via the Esata port ?
