1  Hardware and U-Boot firmware / Hardware / Re: Is my sheevaplug dead ??? on: July 09, 2010, 10:36:05 PM
Just to make sure before attempting to replace my powersupply (since I have to replace it anyway, I'd rather get the heat outside the case and be done with it), I have the following supply that is listed as 5V, 5A. I'm assuming it's a regulated power supply and so will only output the current needed, all at 5V and so there shouldn't be any problems using this power supply and cabling it to a DC jack that I'll install in the plug wall?

Or, as an alternative, I also have a 5.2V, 2A power supply, what is the voltage tolerance on the plug?

That'd be great. All the other reading and experience I've had with uboot has had ethaddr, serial etc. flagged as being set-once only, but I changed ethaddr multiple times without problem, so I figured no environment variables were protected.

I've attempted to increase the uboot bootdelay value higher than the 3 that is default, however after doing the setenv/saveenv/reset, the printenv still reports the 3 seconds value. Is the bootdelay value write protected in the uboot image? I'm using the patched uboot, version "3.4.27 - pingtoo patch.01".
