1  General Category / Application ideas and development Q/A / Re: Internet radio on: May 19, 2009, 06:42:22 AM
I have used Icecast http://www.icecast.org/ for serveral years.  Its pretty simple, entirely command line, but has a http web component to monitor its operation.

Here is a tutorial I used: http://www.yolinux.com/TUTORIALS/LinuxTutorialAudioStreaming.html

Great application.  Good luck.

3  General Category / Application ideas and development Q/A / Digitemp and Dallas 1-wire on: May 04, 2009, 09:43:16 AM
Has anyone tried and been successful getting Digitemp, http://www.digitemp.com working using the DS9490R USB 1-wire master?

I got digitemp compiled on my plug, digitemp runs without errors and sees the DS9490R adapter, but not any 1-wire sensors on the bus.

I was able to get OWFS http://owfs.org/ (One Wire File System) working after installing a kernel that supports the FUSE module.  So I know digitemp should work, its not the hardware necessarily.

Let me offer a hearty second.  It solved my problem of not having FUSE support in the original kernel.  My 1-wire stuff works great now.
5  General Category / General Discussion / Re: SheevaPlug SDK corrupt software on: April 30, 2009, 07:19:50 AM
Good question, but this occured on both my Linux server and my Windoz workstation.  And I have plenty of disk space on both.  I downloaded the zip archives individdually to both machines with the resulting corruption.

I can't explain it, except for my internet connection is different at home and at work.  Oh well, I found a work-around and I can proceed now.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Must be something I can't explain locally.  I downloaded and tested the zip archives at work and they are fine.

When I download the version 1.2 development zip files from the Marvell web site I am getting corrupt files inside the zip archives:

# unzip -t SheevaPlug_LSP.zip.1

    testing: SheevaPlug_LSP/LSP - Image/   OK
    testing: SheevaPlug_LSP/LSP - Image/uImage.sheeva.040309   OK
    testing: SheevaPlug_LSP/LSP - Sources/   OK
    testing: SheevaPlug_LSP/LSP - Sources/0011_nand_4bit_ecc_support.patch   OK
    testing: SheevaPlug_LSP/LSP - Sources/linux-2.6.22.18.tar.bz2   bad CRC 06e2ed21  (should be 4827c36c)
    testing: SheevaPlug_LSP/LSP - Sources/linux-feroceon_4_2_7_KW.zip   bad CRC dfdd43d9  (should be da56b63a)

and

 unzip -t SheevaPlug_Host_SWsupportPackageLinuxHost.zip.1
Archive:  SheevaPlug_Host_SWsupportPackageLinuxHost.zip.1
testing: LinuxHost/gcc.tar.bz2    bad CRC f67cf1a5  (should be 33f9cb16)
    testing: LinuxHost/Linux Host Filesystem - rootfs.tar.bz2   bad CRC 60d6a55d  (should be 459ca48a)

Anyone else experiencing this?

There is both a standard USB port and a "mini" USB port on the plug.  Not sure if they have the same functionality.  I just got my plug yesterday and haven't played with it yet.
