1  Linux Stuff / Kernel / Re: Cryptsetup: Segmentation fault on: January 23, 2010, 01:57:29 AM
Well, I already recompiled latest without any problems using that tools I mentioned AND using initial configuration file provided by someone in this topic. If you just use vanilla kernel, do menuconfig and create config from a scratch - it fails with segfault. So unzip vanilla kernel, apply 4 patches and then copy provided config file to .config file, and then you can make menuconfig and compile kernel as usual. I didn't dig deeper in that problem trying to figure out what kernel config options must be on to produce stable kernel, I just use that config file as a base and then change options to suit my needs - and it works.

I was using shipped with SheevaPlug compile tools, after switching to latest tools from here: http://www.codesourcery.com/sgpp/lite/arm/portal/subscription3053 and re-compiling vanilla kernel everything's seems to be working fine!

Tried compiling versions from Orion and from kernel.org - no luck. Still cryptsetup fails when tries to format device. Tried created by calamari image - works fine, don't know why Sad Used same configs as he did, tried with or without patches - no luck. I need my own kernel to be built, can't use already compiled ones.

BTW - kernels from sheevaplug page doesn't work too, even latest
Any ideas?
