Something seriously doesn't add up there. It was either a chinese fake from eBay or the like, or you formatted it in a completely different file system, one that doesn't perform well on solid state memory.
Me, I just picked up a 8gb class 4, I fully intend to make it my main drive, and leave the onboard drive alone. I wanted a class 6, but I'm cheap. No point getting such a cheap computer and spending almost that much again on the storage medium.

Yes, you can run SDHC cards, I haven't seen them over 32gb, they start getting very pricey above 16gb, but you can get them in 32gb. Make sure you get Class 6 rather than Class 4.. There are also some called "Extreme III", I believe those are above even class 6 in speed, but it's one particular brand's trademark.
You can put the OS on the SDHC as the main drive, or you can span the main drive onto the SDHC.. I'd just leave the main drive unused as a modern SDHC card is going to run circles around it, and if you were to wear it out, it's easy to replace.

Wine runs the windows apps natively, and simply provides the libraries and such that those apps are expecting. As such, x86 apps will not run on an ARM CPU..

Was hoping to get my plug in time for Christmas, so we ordered it something like a month and a half early. Globalwhatsit indicates 2-3 weeks delivery time on their site. It's been 3 weeks and there's no sign of it having even shipped yet. They also don't seem to be answering their emails. Is there another US source? I can just reverse the charges on my credit card and have it overnighted from someone more reliable..
