Are you using the new SDIO patch or the Voodoo one?

The new patch.

2.6.30 has been released, ipk feed has been updated.
Because ipkg gets confused about 2.6.30-rc8 > 2.6.30, you might need to manually remove kernel-image/kernel-module-* and re-install.
3  Linux Stuff / Kernel / Re: Optware ipk feeds on: June 10, 2009, 11:09:35 PM
To take a look at the packages in this feed, just use a browser and goto
  http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/cs08q1armel/cross/unstable/
  http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/sheevaplug/cross/unstable/

The kernel feed is specific to kirkwood SoC, and with SATA as kernel module, it's specific to the sheeva plug. So you cannot install these on other device.

To look inside any ipk, you can wget the file, then tar -xzvf ipk_name, then tar -xzvf data.tar.gz

Same problem without any patch.
8  Linux Stuff / Kernel / kernel.org 2.6.30-rc7 regression? on: May 23, 2009, 11:26:58 PM
I was just testing 2.6.30-rc7, applied
http://trac.nslu2-linux.org/optware/browser/trunk/sources/kernel-modules/kirkwood/mvsdio.patch
http://trac.nslu2-linux.org/optware/browser/trunk/sources/kernel-modules/kirkwood/pow1.patch
http://trac.nslu2-linux.org/optware/browser/trunk/sources/kernel-modules/kirkwood/pow2.patch

upon booting, it has problem bringing up eth0

Code:
NET: Registered protocol family 17
RPC: Registered udp transport module.
RPC: Registered tcp transport module.
lib80211: common routines for IEEE802.11 drivers
rtc-mv rtc-mv: setting system clock to 2000-01-01 00:00:00 UTC (946684800)
mv643xx_eth_port mv643xx_eth_port.0: coherent DMA mask is unset
net eth0: can't allocate rx ring (2048 bytes)
IP-Config: Failed to open eth0
IP-Config: Device `eth0' not found.

Has anyone else seen this? Any idea what's wrong?

Congratulation goes to Mechiel Lukkien (mjl- in IRC), I only built and tested his kernel.
This is the first non-Linux OS I know that booted on the SheevaPlug, goes to show how portable inferno is.
In git notion, it's probably Unix == Plan9~1 == Inferno~2

Ethernet is working.

Mechiel Lukkien has made great progress porting native inferno to the SheevaPlug.
Now it's possible to tftp boot an inferno kernel to sh prompt. The Next task is ethernet driver.

For those interested, you can follow the development:
the mercurial repo for kirkwood port is at static-http://www.ueber.net/who/mjl/hg/kirkwood/
the inferno-os code at http://code.google.com/p/inferno-os/source/checkout

It's supposed to replace
  http://trac.nslu2-linux.org/optware/browser/trunk/sources/kernel-modules/kirkwood/mvsdio.patch?rev=9941&format=txt
unfortunately it does not work.
