Linux Stuff / General Linux questions / Making Backup of the Flash

Guys,
again: I am a newbie. I would like to make a backup of what is in my plug before I start changing things (to a USB drive for example). Iwould like to try that out first: making a backup and restoring the backup.
I suspect it will need more then just doing cp.
Kind regards,
Luke

This Deluge sounds like what I want to have. I am impressed by their website + the fact that the project still is very alive.
As I said, I am a newbie: so tell me about this apt-get. Which packages do I need, how does it work (or were can I find newbbie info on it), does it depend on which version I am running on my plug (standard, debian, ubuntu, gentoo,...). Who is providing these packages ? How do I know which packages are available. I would have expected having to compile these specific kind of things myself.
Kind regards,
Luke

Ok,
I would like to start trying some things on the Plug. I would like to start setting up a bittorrent application. 1) Anyone could give me an easy one I could install. 2) I suspect I will have to recompile it. I have to confess I dont have a Linux PC, can I compile using the SheevaPlug ?
I am a newby, if somebody could point me to the right documentation. I will look it through.

Hi,
from the "SheevaPlug Development Kit - Reference Design-Rev1.0.pdf" from Marvell I copied this: The SheevaPlug Development Kit package is shipped with the following components: • One SheevaPlug including the SheevaPlug board and Debug adapter • USB Cable • Ethernet Cable • CD containing software and documentation • North American Power Cord (7A/125V) The power cord can be used instead of the A/C plug on the SheevaPlug.
You can apparently remove the A/C plug and plug in a Power Cord which is hopefully a standard one (cfr one for a standard VCR). Looking at Figure 1.2 in the same Spec I am rather hopeful you will be able to use a standard power cord. I am having the same problem (I dont live in US).
